At 8:35 AM on August 29, the first trial train, G55201, departed from Xuancheng Station, heading towards Jixi North Station along the newly constructed Xuancheng-Jixi High-Speed Railway. The train ran tests on operational parameters, marking the start of the trial operation phase for the railway, which was built by China Railway Electrification Engineering Group and China Railway No.5 Engineering Group. The full opening of the line is now in its final countdown.
Located in southern Anhui Province, the newly constructed Xuancheng-Jixi High-Speed Railway has a total length of 111.6 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It features three stations: Xuancheng, Ningguo South (a newly built station), and Jixi North. Construction began in March 2021, with static acceptance completed in May this year and joint testing starting in July. The line is expected to be ready for full operation by the end of September.
The Xuancheng-Jixi High-Speed Railway is a crucial part of the Suzhou-Anhui-Jiangxi Rapid Railway Corridor and the intercity railway network in the Wanjiang area. It serves as a backbone line in the Yangtze River Delta intercity rail transit network. Once operational, the project will enhance the regional rail network layout, promote the development of tourism resources along the route, and contribute to the establishment of the Huangshan World-Class Leisure, Vacation, and Wellness Tourism Destination. It is also expected to drive high-quality economic growth in the region.
